If you have already read our section "What is OLED / QD-OLED?" read on. If not then read that first here.

4-Stack Tandem OLED (or Primary RGB OLED) is a premium display technology by LG Display featuring four vertically stacked light-emitting layers (two blue, one red, and one green). It emits pure colours directly without relying on traditional colour filters, yielding massive gains in peak brightness, energy efficiency, and colour purity.

Why is it better than a traditional OLED?

Due to the structure of the 4 stack it distributes the electrical current across four layers rather than three, it requires less power to achieve high brightness, generating less heat and reducing the risk of burn-in.

Emitting pure red, green, and blue light directly eliminates the need for light-absorbing colour filters, leading to significantly better colour reproduction and luminance.
